New Zealand Excitement

I’m just about to start my second week of performing in New Zealand. The first week was filled with 9 schools from Auckland to Taupo with stops in Hamilton, Tauranga and Rotorua. During the tour we try to stop and do some unique stuff that you don’t normally get the chance to do at home. Yesterday, we had the day off in Napier and I decided to scuba dive and feed the sharks at the aquarium here. It was quite an experience! They had 21 or so sharks, 3 rays and a bunch of various types of fish. Alicia decided that she would take a pass on this opportunity since she’s not too fond of predators of the sea. I must admit that I have a certain fear of getting eaten by 3+ meter long creatures, but I also want to get out and experience new things.

I spent a total of about 45 minutes underwater, first feeding everything, then swimming around the tank with these beautifully graceful creatures. The main thing that I’ve gotten out of my scuba experiences on this trip (I did 14 dives on the Great Barrier Reef in Australia 2 weeks ago) is how wonderful God’s creation is. Every time I’ve gone down I’m blown away by this awesome world that exists below the surface. The graceful movement of these creatures is mind blowing to witness. It’s one thing to watch it on tv, it’s a totally different experience to see it up close. I love getting to travel and see things in person that I’ve only glanced at on tv. Creation is such a beautiful thing to behold, God doesn’t shortcut anything. This thought is always a challenge to me to do the same. My goal is to follow in God’s footsteps and never take a shortcut in what I’m doing. On to my second week of performing, every show, every kid…it’s all important.
